Credit Assessment

Disclaimer: This post was not to brag but to show that there is good in the world full of hatred. I hope and plan to give back in the future by donating/volunteering.

Last summer was probably the most boring summer I've had and yet somehow full of life lessons.

I worked 40 hours a week while maintaining summer classes along with a social life. And might I say that was super tough to do. There were two reasons I was working so hard: to help out my grandma and to pay my tuition in the fall.

My grandma is the founder of the restaurant CAPS Cafe down in the "podunk" town of Nelson. Since it is such a small town that means there is little to no help and if there was help it didn't last long. So I spent my summer lending a hand waitressing, bussing, or anything that my grandmas needed help with. It was long 12- hour days working in a hot atmosphere, but anything for my beloved grandma.

“podunk...”

As time when on, my grandma kept asking how much I would owe for tuition in the fall. I keep telling her I might have to get another loan as the money I have isn't enough to pay my tuition. This is a little off topic but you know when your parents/grandparents would talk about you behind your back, not in a bad way? Well, my grandma told my great grandma what my concerns were with another possible loan.

Until one day, I came home and my mom handed me a mysterious card. I opened it. It said, "You can always call me your grandmother". Then I looked down and started to cry. On this day, my heart was forever full of hope. Full of hope in the way that you believe you can do anything. The reason I balled like a baby and my heart was full was because my great grandma gave me a check for $1000. The amount I needed for my tuition. I am so blessed and am beyond thankful as I cannot believe anyone would want to see me succeed as I further my education.
