If you've heard recent stories between the US government and the anti-government attitude of citizens, you would know it has become chaotic to watch.
Mostly this madness unravels when you hear the word controversial word, Trump, in a sentence. However, the statement "hating the government won't improve it", is a big topic for this Washington Post article and I find myself disagreeing with.
“hating the government won't improve it..”
This post talked about their opinion the anti-government attitude of citizens and how a constructive debate about what government is for, what tasks it should take on and what good it actually does. By using examples like the government shutdown to reminds us that government is not the problem but a solution. Nor sweeping aside misleading ideas that won’t guarantee us better politics.
With all that being said, I respectfully disagree and understand other opinions. As a college student growing up and learning about the US history, I believe the best way to get results is to ask the government for aid or to protest our right against/for a cause, even if it means hating the government. For example, women rights movement, MLK, or even the right to bear arms. All three causes received something in return to quit protesting for the public eye to see. Got the point across? Yet, I think the job was well done because if you hate the government, it means your passionate about change. In 2019, we need change in the US for the better.
