Motivation in College

Multimedia has gone from an optional method of advertisement to a vital step in business outreach.
College can be really stressful from balancing your schedule with homework assignments, extracurricular activities, and even work. You constantly have a mental battle about wanting to drop out or stay in college.
So what motivates me?
This may sound very silly compared to other peoples personal testimonies about being a first generations student or wanting a better life for yourself. Hear me out.
I want a dog.
Not just any dog, my dream dog. A German Shepard. I promised myself that if I graduate I will get my dream dog. Oddly enough, it has kept me motivated from day to day.
It even sounds weird to say it out loud.
Sounds a bit different than what most people are used to listening to. Yes, I am a first generation student and yes I want to further my education to better myself. I do have other goals to provide for my future family while being financially stable.
But this has been my main motivation in college this whole time. It's kinda like an after party you get when you graduate high school as like a way of rewarding yourself with the people around you.
For me, a German Shepard will be my reward.
I feel you can hear a motivational speaker, preach in front of students to make them feel motivated. That feeling never lasts, until you actually seek out your own motivation for yourself.
The type of motivation that will make your "stressful" college experience all worth the blood of falling on icy campus sidewalks, the sweat of getting out bed in the morning, and the mental breakdowns caused by crazy deadlines.
I look forward to the year I have left until I graduate.
